GSM Antenna Installation
GSM Antenna Installation
General Information
The device is supplied with a whip-type GSM antenna mounted on a magnetic base.
The antenna connects to the connector located on the top of the device. Tighten the connector nut firmly, but do not apply excessive force to avoid damaging the threads.
Installation Recommendations
The quality of GSM connectivity and GPRS data transmission depends directly on antenna placement. Therefore, it is recommended to determine the optimal antenna location on-site before final installation.
- Install the antenna strictly vertical in the most open area possible to ensure the best GSM signal reception.
- The magnetic-base whip antenna should be placed on a metal surface (e.g., a metal enclosure or roof) to improve grounding and performance.
- Do not install the antenna inside metal cabinets, enclosures, or other shielded structures.
- When routing the antenna cable, consider its length and avoid tension or sharp bends.
Cable Routing
- Avoid running the cable over sharp edges of metal components.
- The minimum bend radius of the cable must be at least 10 times the cable diameter (approximately 3–5 cm).
Setup and Final Mounting
- During system commissioning, do not permanently fix the antenna in place. First, verify stable GSM connectivity and correct data transmission. Only then should you securely mount the antenna.
Warning
Do not extend or shorten the antenna cable yourself. Any modification of the cable length is strictly prohibited.
